Social Cohesion and Participation
Climate change, geopolitical changes, the rapid development of AI: We live in a time of multiple crises and growing challenges, which cause fear and uncertainty for many people. Moreover, structural barriers such as language limitations, illness, disabilities, or social exclusion prevent many individuals from participating in society. This lack of inclusion fosters distrust in democratic structures, media, and institutions, putting our democracy under increasing pressure.
Together with our project partners in Berlin and across Europe, we develop models for greater inclusion and participation, particularly for disadvantaged and marginalised groups. Our approach is rooted in people’s real-life experiences, strengthening institutions and local organisations while fostering exchange and shared learning. We emphasize creative and innovative methods, such as artistic engagement with the COVID-19 pandemic or using unconventional learning spaces.
Our projects in this field help people reconnect with society, actively shape their communities, experience self-efficacy, and find opportunities for engagement and participation.
