About us
As a joint organisation of the State of Berlin and the Berlin Chamber of Crafts, we at BGZ Berliner Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit strengthen international networking in the capital region. Together with our partners, we focus on implementing international projects in our areas of work for our shareholders and apply for the necessary funding. Our mission is the qualification and support of people and organisations. We focus on innovative projects that contribute to greater sustainability in Berlin and the partner cities involved.
Our Identity
We are experts in the development and implementation of international projects - primarily in the EU. To a small extent, we also work with partners in the Global South. Our projects contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for socially, economically and environmentally sustainable development. They are innovative and bring together different sectors such as educational institutions, companies and administration.

Our projects qualify and empower young people and professionals to prepare them for current and future professional and social challenges. These include far-reaching digitalisation, the decarbonisation of the economy, social cohesion and dealing with various crises. As the BGZ, we promote international networking and cooperation - especially in Berlin's skilled trades, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and educational institutions. We strengthen the resilience of individuals, organisations and companies and contribute to securing skilled workers with our educational projects.

Ein holistischer Ansatz für mehr Gesundheitsgerechtigkeit Dies ist die Geschichte von zwei Initiativen, die Gesundheit, sowohl körperlich als auch geistig für alle zugänglich machen möchten.
REAVES beim Annual Forum der EUSBSR
Anlässlich des jährlichen Forums der EU-Strategie für den Ostseeraum (EUSBSR) und des "Days of Cities and Regions" Anfang Mai in Tallinn präsentierte die BGZ vor Ort das Interreg Projekt REAVES, um auf die Relevanz einer resilienten regionalen Kreativwirtschaft aufmerksam zu machen. In einem Workshop mit Akteuren der öffentlichen Verwaltung diskutierten wir Potenziale der Kreativwirtschaft für die regionale Entwicklung.
ProCirCon Transnationales Partner Meeting
Vom 04.-06. Mai 2026 waren wir zu Gast bei unseren Partnern von JEDU in Finnland. Gemeinsam arbeiteten wir an Projektergebnissen, die die Verankerung von Kreislaufwirtschaft im Bauwesen ankurbeln sollen. Zudem besuchten wir moderne Firmen in den Bereichen des modularen Holzbaus (SIEVI) und der autonomen Abfallwirtschaft (VESTiA). Ein weiteres Highlight war der Besuch des neu entstehenden Gebäudes des Berufsbildungszentrums JEDU, das u.a. mit der Unterstützung von Berufsschüler*innen gebaut wird.
