Our Mission

BGZ works on behalf of its shareholders: the State of Berlin and the Berlin Chamber of Crafts.

We develop and implement international projects for them and their partners - with a special focus on European cooperation projects. This way, we contribute to the implementation of the strategies of the Berlin administration and provide support in the search for solutions to the challenges facing Berlin's craftsmanship sector.

Feel free to contact us with your project ideas! We particularly welcome ideas that relate to our four areas of operation. All the projects we carry out offer ecological and/or social added value for Berlin and contribute to the implementation of Agenda 2030 and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Contribution

We orientate ourselves to the needs of our partners and start where necessary:

When finding a joint project idea, when acquiring funding and in the planning, implementation and realisation of projects. In return, we receive institutional funding from the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises and successfully acquire third-party funding from federal ministries and various EU action programmes.

  • With our content expertise and many years of project experience as a coordinator, we enable successful project implementation.
  • We support our partners in the development, planning and formation of consortia for international projects.
  • We research (EU) funding programmes and play a key role in the project application process.

How we work

In partnership

Together with our partners in Berlin and abroad, we develop project ideas and provide support in achieving the best possible results. We take care of the ‘tedious bureaucracy’ so that our partners can concentrate fully on implementing the content. We rely on a division of labour in which everyone can contribute their skills in the best possible way.

Innovative

There are many good projects. We plan and design projects in such a way that new paths are taken - for example, in favour of better permeability between training and studies, or in bringing together those who have few points of contact in day to day life. We build on proven experience and provide impetus so that new and innovative ideas can emerge.

Sustainable

Implementing the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals is particularly important to us - both in Berlin and in the partner cities with which we realise projects. We attach great importance to creating social and ecological added value and thus increasing our resilience in times of multiple crises.

Impact-orientated

Our projects have a long-term impact. We always work towards keeping an eye on structural changes. We are particularly proud when our project results are implemented in the long term - for example by integrating learning modules into the regular curriculum framework.

Langfristige Wirkungen

It is important to us that our projects bring about long-term structural changes. In the ProPolska project, for example, "Polish in businesses" was included as a regular subject in the training programme for office communication clerks. The SafeLMD project has firmly established training modules for bicycle couriers in Berlin.

Your cooperation with us

We are open for new cooperations and would be happy to hear your ideas!

Let's think together about how we can develop your project idea so that we can raise the necessary funds, find the right cooperation partners and create added value for Berlin and beyond!
