About us
As a joint organisation of the State of Berlin and the Berlin Chamber of Crafts, we at BGZ Berliner Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit strengthen international networking in the capital region. Together with our partners, we focus on implementing international projects in our areas of work for our shareholders and apply for the necessary funding. Our mission is the qualification and support of people and organisations. We focus on innovative projects that contribute to greater sustainability in Berlin and the partner cities involved.
Our Identity
We are experts in the development and implementation of international projects - primarily in the EU. To a small extent, we also work with partners in the Global South. Our projects contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for socially, economically and environmentally sustainable development. They are innovative and bring together different sectors such as educational institutions, companies and administration.

Our projects qualify and empower young people and professionals to prepare them for current and future professional and social challenges. These include far-reaching digitalisation, the decarbonisation of the economy, social cohesion and dealing with various crises. As the BGZ, we promote international networking and cooperation - especially in Berlin's skilled trades, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and educational institutions. We strengthen the resilience of individuals, organisations and companies and contribute to securing skilled workers with our educational projects.

Training of Trainers zur Solarenergie in Windhuk, Namibia
Im März 2026 findet in Windhuk ein Training of Trainers zur Solarenergie statt. Die Schulung wird von Berit Müller vom Solarzentrum Berlin geleitet und richtet sich an das zukünftige Team des Solarcentre Windhoek (SCW) sowie an Fachkräfte und Multiplikatorinnen aus Bildungs- und Energieinstitutionen. Am Beispiel des Solarzentrums Berlin wird gemeinsam erarbeitet, wie das SCW zukünftig wirken kann. Dieses Projekt wird von NAKOPA gefördert.
Berliner Berufsschul-Expert*innen zu fachlichem Austausch in Namibia
Ein Expertenteam aus Berliner Berufsschulen reist im März 2026 nach Namibia, um ein Training of Trainers durchzuführen. Mit den Partnerorganisationen KAYEC und DAPP werden praxisnahe Kurzmodule in handwerklichen Kernbereichen weiterentwickelt und für die Pilotphase vorbereitet. Das Training bildet die Grundlage für anschließende Kurzqualifizierungen für 240 Jugendliche. Das Projekt findet im Rahmen des Bund-Länder-Programms statt und wird von der LEZ Berlin und dem BMZ finanziell gefördert.
25 Jahre Städtepartnerschaft Berlin–Windhuk: Podcast zur Solarzusammenarbeit
Anlässlich des 25-jährigen Jubiläums der Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Berlin und Windhuk spricht eine Delegation aus Windhuk mit Kaddy Sabally Müller über Solarenergie sowie Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen Berlin und Windhuk. Die Kooperation wird gemeinsam von der Stadt Windhuk, dem LEZ Berlin, der Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe, der BGZ und dem SolarZentrum Berlin im Rahmen des NAKOPA-Programms von Engagement Global gGmbH umgesetzt und durch das BMZ gefördert.
